International Tobacco Control Gone Awry: Articles 9 and 10 of the Framework Convention on Tobacco Control

Today, I am releasing two commentaries on what I believe is the misguided nature of the international approach to tobacco product regulation that has been adopted in the Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (FCTC) and in its implementation by the working groups related to Articles 9 and 10.

The first commentary addresses the most recent recommendations by the study group working on Articles 9 and 10.

The second commentary addresses the FCTC's and the tobacco regulation study group's approach to tobacco control in general.

Together, these commentaries paint the rest of the story regarding the proposed international regulation of tobacco products, as outlined in FCTC and as being implemented by the FCTC's study groups.
